Karin Wolman has a New York City immigration practice focusing on individuals of extraordinary ability in the arts and sciences, and a wide range of visa options for professionals in healthcare, education, businesss, design and the non-profit sector.
She advises companies on hiring, retention and immigration compliance issues, and helps organizations and their employees plan visa strategies for work, study, career and family transitions, waivers of inadmissibility, retention of green cards for workers posted abroad, and U.S. citizenship. A member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) since 1996, Ms. Wolman is a frequent speaker at local and national conferences, and has written and edited articles for AILA and other publishers.
She has served on many committees for the New York chapter of AILA, including CLE, Citizenship Day, Advocacy and District Director Liaison, and as an Editor of the NY Symposium Handbook. At the national level, she currently serves on the FACES [Fashion Athletics Culture Education & Sciences] and Distance Learning Committees, and is moderator of the O & P visa forum on AILA InfoNet. She earned her B.A. in English Literature at Columbia University and her J.D. at UCLA School of Law.
